What is Kubu Cane?
Kubu is a natural rattan cane woven in a tight, rounded pattern. It has a soft grey-brown tone that varies from strand to strand, so no two pieces are identical. Our Cape Cane range combines Kubu cane with sloped arms and white upholstery. It's designed for living rooms and covered verandahs.

01
Everyday Care
- Dust weekly with a soft brush, or vacuum with a brush attachment, getting into the weave.
- Wipe marks with a soft cloth dampened in mild soapy water and wrung out well. Then wipe with a clean damp cloth and let the piece dry naturally.
- Plump and rotate seat cushions so they wear evenly.
02
Keep the balance right
Natural cane responds to its surroundings. If it's too wet, it can soften, sag or develop mildew. If it's too dry, it can become brittle and crack.
- Keep pieces out of rain, and away from drip lines on verandahs.
- Avoid prolonged direct sun, which fades and dries the fibre.
- Keep cane away from fireplaces, heaters and air conditioning vents.
- Highveld winters: in very dry conditions, an occasional wipe with a barely damp cloth helps the cane keep its flexibility.
03
Upholstery
Spot-clean the white upholstery straight away with a clean cloth and mild soap solution. Blot rather than rub.
